We collect the bare minimum required to make CineRoom function seamlessly:

• Temporary Room Data: Room codes, settings, and active participant counts. This data is ephemeral and tied to the lifecycle of your active room.
• Chat & Reactions: Chat messages and emoji reactions are temporarily stored and broadcasted using Supabase Realtime. Chat history is cleared when the room is destroyed.
• Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated usage data (e.g., how many rooms are created) to help us improve the platform's performance and stability.

2. How We Handle Your Media

CineRoom uses WebRTC technology via LiveKit for screen sharing and webcam streams. This means that your video and audio data is transmitted securely and is never recorded, stored, or analyzed by our servers. The media streams exist only in the moment, shared directly with the participants you invited.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. We use local browser storage strictly to remember your preferences (e.g., your display name, chosen avatar, and theme settings) so you don't have to re-enter them every time you join a room.

To provide you with a world-class experience, we utilize enterprise-grade infrastructure providers:

• LiveKit: For ultra-low latency WebRTC video and audio transmission.
• Supabase: For real-time database syncing, chat broadcasting, and room state management.
• Vercel: For hosting our application and serving it securely to you.
